Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine – Lobster Pounding Film

This film was created to play in Linda Bean’s newly created museum dedicated to the history of lobster fishing in Maine. It is geared toward children and explains how lobsters are kept in a pound during the winter months, in order to provide fresh lobsters all year long. Fresh Produce Productions Unlimited is the production company behind the film and I was contracted to provide post production services.

Honor Flight

Honor Flight is a charity organization that honors the remaining veterans of WWII by taking them on a trip to visit their memorial in Washington D.C. Joe Dorsey and I had the privilege of tagging along on one of the flights and we decided to produce this piece. This mini documentary was shot using two Canon 7D cameras and was edited with Final Cut Pro and After Effects.

This piece was crafted for the Casa Monica hotel in St. Augustine, FL. I produced, shot and edited this piece with the help of Joe Dorsey and Walter Lowe. It was shot on a Canon 7D and edited in Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Honduras

In August of 2009, Walter Lowe and I traveled to Honduras to capture video for a series of webisodes that were designed to attract tourism to this beautiful country. Although the trip was postponed at first – due to a military coup that was happening around the same time – I had such a wonderful time exploring the country. We were there for eight days and traveled across the entire country shooting at some of the most exquisite locations that I have ever seen.

Our gear

Walter Lowe is the resident master of the Red Rock Micro system, so he decided that we should shoot the entire series with 35mm adapters. I’m glad he made the call because the video was breathtaking. Our total equipment list included a Sony V1u camera, the Red Rock Micro system, a handful of 35mm prime lenses, a Libec tripod (that we beat-up pretty bad), a box of HDV tapes a shotgun microphone and several boxes of nutrition bars.

History’s Secret Spaces

James Coats and I have been talking about putting together a television show for several years. We have been bouncing ideas back and forth for a while now but it was this idea that really sparked some interest in both of us. History’s Secret Spaces (working title) will take you on exciting adventures inside hidden rooms and passageways, and through the mysterious wilderness of the world, all while exploring the legends surrounding well-known cathedrals, homes, caves, tunnels and wrecks. It’s an ambitious undertaking for three people, but I feel that it will be a fun adventure.

Our first shoot was a re-enactment scene involving pirates burying treasure. We had a blast shooting for the day and I was really excited to work with such a great group of people both cast and crew. From there we spent over six months of our free time capturing more footage and editing the final product. Below is a short promo for the show.

Disney Resort Showcase 2010

This week marked another fun project with the Disney UK PR team. This time I had the luxury of shooting and editing for them. We had a great time, just like last year, gathering b-roll and interviews while watching a batch of print journalists enjoy their time at Walt Disney World Resort. From a brisk ride on the SeaRaycers in the Seven Seas Lagoon to the full pirate expereince at Magic Kingdom, they had these journalists busy. I have to tell you that my favorite part was watching the fireworks from the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon – nothing compares to it. All in all, it was a great time. I’m looking forward to next year already.

Disney legends shoot

I’m a history buff. I’m also a Disney buff. Put them together and you have just created my dream shoot. This was it, it was a round-table discussion with the men that Walt Disney hired to create the Walt Disney Resort in Florida. These men were hand-picked by Walt to accomplish this enormous task. This group was made up of civil engineers, lawyers, city planners, engineers and lawmakers that all had a hand at creating one of the greatest resorts on earth. I can’t talk too much about this project, but I will say that I can’t wait for it to become a show or DVD or whatever! It was really well thought-out and it was moderated by Bob Allen, Jr. from I.D.E.A.S. He did a fantastic job of getting these men to give away some of the secrets that created this magical place. Fascinating.

Noel’s Christmas Presents – Disney Cruise Line

I’m starting to work quite a bit with the Disney UK PR team. Sarah and Dave are great to work with on any project, let alone a cruise, and it’s always a great time working with Jay Hatcher. This shoot was for Sky 1′s Christmas show, Noel’s Christmas Presents, hosted by Noel Edmonds.

I was hired to be second camera operator for the shoot and I had a great time. Noel was a great guy, as was everyone else on the crew from the UK. I also learned quite a bit of British slang – always a plus for me. I didn’t realize just how popular Noel Edmonds was but evidently he’s a big deal in the UK – and Europe in general. They told me that he’s like our Regis Philbin, without the loud yelling. It was a fun shoot and again, how bad can shooting on a cruise really be, right? It was a blast. They wanted me to sing karaoke but it didn’t happen. There’s not really a chance of that ever happening – for good reason.

Universal Studios PR – Resort EPK shoot

I have been working closely with the Universal Studios Florida PR team for about four years now through a company called Roycom Communications. Early last year, Roycom merged with Go To Team (another company that I have worked with many times) and now Go To Team handles all of Universal Studios PR’s production. Today, I had a chance to shoot some EPK (electronic press kit) b-roll for the resorts at Universal Orlando Resort. We covered the Portofino hotel, the Hard Rock hotel and the Royal Pacific in today’s adventure. It’s always fun working with Go To Team and Universal’s PR team! But I always get a kick out of working with Paul Gragmalia – he’s the other one on the scooter.

Infinite Energy

Infinite energy is a natural gas company based in the southeast. They came to us through our good friends at McKenna Media. We had a lot of fun working on these spots and I personally had a great time directing.
